Anyone with stress, anxiety, pain, difficulty sleeping, expectant mothers, people suffering from PTSD, anyone looking for a relaxing treatment.2. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREPARE FOR MY SESSION?
Come freshly showered. Do not use any creams, perfumes, powders or deodorant after your shower.
Bring your towel and if you wish, a bathrobe. You can come in your bathing suit or change into your suit here. A shower is available for your use after your session.3. DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO SWIM?
You do NOT need to know how to swim. You will have floaties on your legs and be supported at all times by your practitioner. There is no danger of drowning.
If you have a fear of water, I can use the initial sessions to gently acclimate you to the pool.4. WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE GETTING WATER IN MY EARS?
We provide several kinds of earplugs. You can choose the ones that are right for you.5. WHAT IF THE THERAPY EVOKES AN EMOTIONAL RESPONSE?
There are times that this therapy can give rise and expression to deeply held emotions such as sorrow or anger. Because I understand that response, I am comfortable allowing that emotion to surface and be expressed.
There is NO wrong way to receive a Watsu® session. Each session is unique and you can simply relax and allow something...... or nothing to occur.6. WILL THIS SERVICE BE PERFORMED IN A PRIVATE SETTING?
Our pool is enclosed by a tent-like structure which provides privacy.
We also offer on-location sessions in your own pool.7. HOW OFTEN WOULD YOU RECOMMEND RECEIVING A TREATMENT?
If I had my druthers, you would come at least two times a month.
People suffering with chronic pain or PTSD would benefit the most by coming once or twice a week initially. After a month of intensive treatments, more time could elapse between sessions. Each client will be evaluated on an individual basis.8. HOW LONG SHOULD I PLAN ON EACH SESSION TAKING?
Time in the water is 60 minutes. Before the first session you can count on at least 20 minutes to fill out your intake form and be introduced to the therapy. Allow 20 minutes after the session to comfortably become re-grounded, to shower and re-dress.9. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF A CLIENT BEHAVED "INAPPROPRIATELY"?
At the first sexually inappropriate action or word, the session will be immediately terminated and payment required for the full session. That client would not be welcome to return for further sessions.
There is a degree of physical intimacy inherent in this type of therapy but it must never be confused as having any sort of sexual connotation.
Natural physical responses to the water and movement will not be regarded as inappropriate.10. ARE THERE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR RECEIVING THIS TREATMENT?
Any skin disorders, open wounds, untreated blood pressure conditions, history of fainting, tracheotomy, incontinence are contraindicated.
